It wasn't produced early enough for Tomino not to be involved as a director.
Tomino directed the first half of Yuusha Reideen by then and aired in Hawaii
by 1976. Danguard Ace was aired by 1977 in Japan. (Incidentally, the second
half of Reideen was directed by Tadao Nagahama - the same director for
Combattler V, Voltes V and Daimos)
I think that it is highly unlikely that Tomino would be involved however, as
Danguard Ace was made by Toei - a rival production company to Sunrise...
where Tomino belonged. ^_^
