Definitely for dramatic effect. Just an instance of appearance taking
precedence over the story (albeit in a somewhat minor fashion).
Of course, if Monsha hadn't been consumed by Gundam envy, all three of them
should have popped up over the top at the count of three and taken the Zakus
out.
