I don't think so, actually. The voice of Hikaru Ichijo also played Bobby in
Macross 7, a character who was auditioning for the role of Hikaru in the U.N
Spacy commercial. Sort of an in-joke...

I've been pondering this but is the reason why they made the original
macross crew (Misa, Hikaru, et al) disappeard was because of the death of
