I'm a bigger fan of Ulead Mediastudio Pro above Adobe Premiere. Much nicer
interface and it seems to be substantially easier to use.
As for removing the subtitles, you probably can't. You could try cropping
the image, but that means you lose a lot of screen real estate.
Your best bet is to use raw japanese footage, either from DVD's or
laserdiscs, or failing that, use dubbed VHS tapes. Even if you don't want to
watch 'em, they'll be better for music video footage since you're replacing
the audio anyway.
