My 2 cents on this topic.
First, I find that this particular poster has a particularly large
yellow streak down his back. If he's willing to post such a flaming post, he
should at least have the courage to use a proper email address.
Second. As an unmoderated forum, the Gundam ML is place where all
and any post can be made -- including this kind of attack. If a particular
post is severely OT, most of the time the relevant posters will take it
off-list. If not, a gentle reminder would often get the thread removed. The
important thing here is the EVERYONE must cooperate to make the list work.
Third. I find that his broad sweeping generalization insulting and
demeaning, as I am too an Asian, and I know of at least 2 or 3 other Asians
on this ML besides Zhou and me. In fact, if Mr. nouser has such a low
opinion of Asians, then he shouldn't watch Gundam or any other anime,
because they are Asian productions.
Fourth. I find his comment on his age amusing. If he thinks he's a
big shot at 19, then I guess everybody else above that age is worth nothing.
As a young adult, and having gone through the teenage phrase of thinking I
knew everything, I am secretly laughing behind his back.
To be absolutely honest, I do think that Mr. Zhou's replies has been
volumious and often confrontational in nature. It's not my style of working,
and it does irritate me to an extend, but this is an open ML, so I either
take it or leave the list. I chose to stay, of course. However, just because
I personally find some of his post -- all right, the majority of his post --
slightly over-the-top does not give me the right to publically flame him. Of
course, most of you right-thinking folks would have already reached this
conclusion.
There. My 2 cents. You guys really know how to get volume for money. =)
