Actually, Evangelion is one of my favorite series (if not my fav...although BGC Tokyo 2040, Gasaraki, Fushigi Yuugi, Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop rank very close to it), mostly because I can identify with many of the characters. And I understand (unlike many here it seems) that the Eva pilots are only 14 years old, going through puberty, having grown up in broken homes, etc., so they are going to have problems that come out during the story. And most of the adults also went through some pretty serious tragedies in their lives, so they are going to have problems as well.
And I happen to like both endings, and have no problem keeping them straight.
Eva is a series that really makes you think. That's why I like it.
But I've kept out of this discussion simply because I've been through this debate before here, and don't wish to do so again. Also, this is a Gundam mailing list, not an Eva one, so I didn't want to keep an old OT arguement going. Some like it, some don't. I'll leave it at that, but agree that everyone should watch it just to experience it.
