It has - if you play the Saturn game, Blank of Three Years (either 3 or
5, as the game only cover what happen up to when Akito and Yurika marries).
The rest of the stuff is introduced in the movie. As you can imagine, not
that much happens after they get back to earth, just that Akito tries to
convince Yurika's father that he's fit to marry her, and when that fails,
Yurika and him go out and operate a noodle stand together (hence the
importance of the recipe in the movie), and living off that while living
with Ruri (they adopted her). I still don't really remember anything
important in the game that you SHOULD know before the movie, other than the
fact that the replacement pilot send to replace Akito in the series didn't
die, since she's capable of using Boson Jump.
Actually, I believe by experience the tragic experience, he became the
"Prince on the White Horse" that Yurika think Akito is - he know what he
wants, and he know what to do in life - to protect the ones he loved (Ruri
and Yurika, along with the girl he's with now), even if it means he
shouldn't see Yurika and Ruri again. Of course, I think he's wrong - he
seems to believe that after the "experiment", he's not really the one Yurika
fell in love with, and he didn't want Ruri to be around someone who's
definitely not normal. I am really surprised that even in the other game,
which was supposed to take place after the movie, Yurika still hasn't catch
up to Akito yet...
I don't remember if it's in the Saturn game or DC game, but the picture
of Yurika in her wedding dress sure is something (probably that's how Yurika
convince Akito to marry her...)

Like Gundam W?

Actually, it reminds me of the V-MAX of Layzner - it can block and you
can use it to ramp people. It would be really funny if Akito said, "Rei,
V-MAX, start!"
