This game looks soooo good. The plot is that WWII lasts a few weeks
longer, long enough for Russia to invade northern Japan, the U.S.
take the southern part of Japan and the country is split, like
Germany after WWII. Japan becomes a hot spot in the cold war as each
side stockpile weapons to prepare for WWIII. You as a player command
the native Japanese forces, either slaved to the Americans or the
Russians. Your mission is to kick both sides off Japan and reunite
the country. There was some concern that the game wouldn't be
released in the U.S. as it might be viewed as too nationalistic.
Oh and BTW, the story is very real. If Japan had waited even a few
days to surrender, the Russians would have taken Hokkaido, along with
the Kuriles in their possession to this day. The Atom bomb probably
saved a divided and occupied Japan. Crazy.
