I don't think it's even possible in Space whether or not people are actually
stupid enough to attempt it. The high speed of an MS would it all but
impossible for an Jet packed infantry to get close, and even it was standing
still, none of the Jet packs seems to have enough propellant or enough
oxygen for a guy to travel long distances to do so.

And even if they did get on, a moving MS should be able to shake off 99% of
them, and for the 1% that's left, their options are pretty limited, since
the ms can pretty much swat them out. Their hands and feet are pretty much
their main deefense against Infantry attacks (except for land use MSes,
which carry some anti-personel weapons).

In fact, the only real tactic that is somewhat useable (and actually used)
is for who ever that manages to latch on an MS is to open up the cockpit and
take over the MS. This is used in a number of series (V Gundam for
example), and seems to be pretty effective, as long as the pilot doesn't get
his handgun out in time to kill you ^^
