Its a shame that G-Gundam is considered as a "non-Gundam" just because it doesn't conform to the whole "real robot, scientific war" stuff like all the others (including AC). I remember that essay (yes the one I think one GMLer translated) saying that of all the non-Tomino's, G-Gundam is probably the truest in the Gundam spirit. I believe him. G-Gundam is everything a true Tomino Gundam should be and is.
Hmm.. I wonder how Giant Robo did in the States (seeing many similarities between this and G both penned by yasuhiro Imagawa) having all those seemiongly "ridiculous" mecha and fighters. I then wonder if G-Gundam will ever get there because when it got aired here in the Philippines, only kids watched it. A shame, I watched it all and its definitely superior to most anime these days (that includes Eva and GW)
