Arguing about things is one thing, but we must face the unfortunate fact
that whatever Bandai/Sunrise comes up with and calls Gundam, IS Gundam. So
if they say that Char and Amuro died before anybody else could challenge
them, then we will never EVER know the concrete fact whether they are the
ultimate MS pilots in Gundam history. So all those Zechs vs Char and Herro
vs Amuro instances and arguments will never ever be put into place. Unless
Bandai/Sunrise decides to create an Anime solely to end the argument. We
all have our favorites, our own beliefs of who can actually win; newtype or
a regular human. There are too many factors to simply say who can win in a
real fight. In reality, there is no defined line of victory and loss, we
all have our own sacrifices, advantages and disadvantages.

Suppose you put a martial arts master who just recently won the world
championship, and say a wimpy kid like me in a ring without rules or
regulations of what you could do to each other. Who would win? Suppose
the martial arts master was wearing knight's armor and I wasn't? That
would potentially give me speed over him? What if he was actually a she?
What if I had morals to never hurt a woman? What if I had a gun? What if
he had a gun? What if he had a gun but didn't know how to use it? What if
the safety was on the instant we both drew? What if he was out of ammo?
What if I was using a gun which wasn't tuned up so I could use it properly?
What if the gun jammed on me? What if there were people outside of the
ring shooting at my opponent? There are so many factors to include in a
real battle, and many things which involve emotions which will project the
millions of outcomes of that particular battle. With each passing moment,
our emotions change to reflect the situation therefore everchanging the
file result.

There will always be calculation and prediction, but not always are we
right. Sure, Gundam might just be an Anime, but the creators and most
especially Tomino meant Gundam to be a reflection of reality. Characters
with driving emotions, machinery with technical and scientific explanations
down to the detailed aspects of physics. When you have such factors in a
story or in a world for that matter, nothing is predictable, otherwise we
wouldn't be watching Gundam. If we predicted the conclusion to each story,
we wouldn't be watching Gundam. It wouldn't be interesting and we wouldn't
be curious to find out what happens to the characters in Gundam or any
story for that matter. Our curiousity drives us to find out the truth
about things, and rather than trying to explain it, I'd think we just
better watch and enjoy Gundam...even though there are some things some of
us find unacceptable.

(i.e. Amuro's death, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, etc.)

It's nice to debate about things, and debating will increase our knowledge
to understand each other and why things the way they are in Gundam, but in
the end...it is only a fairy tale.
