VHS tapes are also limited to regions.
These are PAL, SECAM(?) and NTSC.
None of these formats works with each other, and I think Japanese is PAL
while North America is NTSC.
But I think the major problem here is frames/second, but I'm not sure.

As far as I know.. only DVD's have regional encoding.. VCD's and VHS tapes
should be able to be played in any device that supports those formats in
general.

Thanks, If i don't mind it being only in japanese, what is a good source
to get legal copies of Gundam series (be it dvd, vcd, or vhs) that I can
watch without buying a special japanese region player?
