Bingo.

It's basically a beam shield that covers all areas ;-)

It only lasts 3 seconds (Astonage said this himself, he made the mod).

Dunno about V2 Assault, but both Crossbone X1 and X2 have a similar gadget
called a Anti-Beam Coating Cloak. For example, Seabook used it to deflect
Tobia's repeated beam gun attacks in the first Crossbone Gundam
manga. Those seem sturdier than the FA-ZZ mod but who knows?
