Okay, I will do some reading, but I need to reply to this mail first. ^_^

I know that...

Yes, I realize this. I only quoted the SRWFF stuff so people would
understand why I think Nu Gundam has an I-Field.

So what is a beam shield? Those hand-held things in F91?
Yeah, I know it isn't infallible, but when you combine it's defensive power
with a pilot like Amuro, you've got one hell of an enemy (or ally) on your
hands.

Then how come it doesn't have it in SRWA? ^_^

Okay, thanks for this info.

This proves my point - if you aren't a Newtype, your piloting will likely be
inferior.
Why would I take it as an insult? You aren't deriding my argument or
anything...Trust me, if I feel insulted, I'll let you know. ^_^

You're supporting my points, you know. ^_^

Yes, but dodging and aiming are essential skills that a good pilot must
master. I'm not saying Newtype skills account for EVERYTHING a good or ace
pilot knows, just that they make the person a better pilot. I.e, Amuro is as
good as he is because he is a strong Newtype.
>needed for funnels, which is not true (meaning it should be changed) - Char
>was clearly a newtype, yet he cannot use bits back in the original Gundam...
Huh? I don't recall hearing this...just because he let Lalah use the bits
doesn't mean he can't.
While I will agree that Char might be a weaker Newtype than most, I still
think he's pretty strong. I can give you a good example here (just one this
time, if not it will take too much space) In CCA, when Bright launches a
mixture of normal and nuclear missiles at Axis, Char is able to use his
Funnels to correctly "sense" the right (i.e, nuclear) ones. "Ike, Funnels!
^_^" You can't tell me that that doesn't require SOME degree of psychic
power - after all, the missiles look exactly alike! He is also able to sense
the presence of Newtypes (see Zeta Gundam) so I don't believe Char is THAT
weak a Newtype.
> Also remember another thing - Lalah and Quess have moderate, if not
>"sucky" regular piloting skill (evasive manuver and stuff like that). If not
>for their NT skill, they would even be a pilot - they know where to attack
>and when to dodge, which is really important in the Gundam era of combat.
Yes, but a lot of that skill is because they are Newtypes too.
> Another thing is that I truly believe in Char's father's theory of
>Newtype - Newtypes are basically people with heighten sense of awareness.
>Almost all Newtypes display that trait - it's basically the "side-effect"
>that almost all NT makes good pilots that really "override" the people's

>conversation with Hathaway.
I agree with you here. I think what Jion zum Daikun believed in is one of
the most important but overlooked facts of Gundam...anyway, this once again
helps my point, because Newtypes have this "perception" that normal pilots
don't. ^_^
> Come on, Mark! Help me out here! I am really rusty on my Gundam

You seem quite knowledgeable to me...and you'll have to forgive my tenacity.
It's a holdover from my days on the EVA ML. ^_^
