Amuro is not that weak in terms of physical manifestations of NT
abilities (i.e. heightened brainwave emission), he is simply weaker. In
terms of empathy and 3D instincts, however, Amuro is one of the better
NTs. He is an all-roundedly powerful NT, with only one slacking aspect
of psycho-wave/brainwave emission.

As for Lala Sun, she doesn't strike me as an exceptional pilot per se.
Nevertheless, she has impressive brainwave emission that caught Char's
eye, thus putting her in Elmeth's cockpit. Her level of empathy must
also be high, at least high enough to match that of Amuro's to create a
lasting love tragedy that continues well into the 0093 storyline.

Quin Mantha is equipped with a Beam Deflection system that could reflect
the enemy's beam shots (recall QM's dual with Geymalk). Logically
speaking, an I-Field should be involved in the beam deflection process,
but there was no official specification.
