Actually, from watching most of 08th MS Team (I need the last volume!!!),
the Gundam Ground was a very multi role prototype. IT was the "infantryman
Gundam", and went anywhere and everywhere without modification.

I would like to think of the RX-79(G) as the F-22 Raptor of OYW Mobile
Suits. It could go almost anywhere (and it did, desert, swamp, underwater,
ice) with only minor modifications. It's like the advanced Multi Role
Fighter planes we have today. For me, the only reason that they didn't
stick to it's confiduration is the cost. Unlike todays USAF, the EFSF
wasn't willing enough to spend it's money. If only the Feds didn't have to
play catch up to the Zions and have to go for easy to produce MS.
