So that it can reach from the centre of the MA to grab weapons such as beam
rifle and bazooka which might be located in a weapon slot further than arm's
length.
I think the most "ridiculously overpowered Gundam" must be that S-Gundam EX or
something like that. It was too expansive so that it wasn't build in the end.
