I guess the Zion traced the shuttle from North Pole base and found out that it
was heading towards side 6 but didn't know which colony. Or in fact, they knew
which one it was and were trying to find out the secret base with an attack. I
doubt this because Killing did say his man saved the cyclops team with Al's
photos.
I don't think they are trying to "weed out" Feds MS because that side 6 is
neutral (I.E. no MS or military base).
Or simply a random battle because there isn't much in 0080!!
