Nani!? WMP for Mac BETTER than the Windows version and ON PAR with Quicktime
for Mac? WMP Mac beta is the BIGGEST load of crash-ware I have EVER run on
my Mac. The framerate, even on the latest Powermac G4, is poor, even on very
low data rate clips. In addition, it fails to support most of the codecs
that the PC version does. The Mac version may be "just a beta", but its a
beta of last years final version of WMP!

In comparison, I can play a Sorenson encoded (processor intensive) clip,
full screen 1024x768, without dropping a frame in Quicktime. Hell, running
MacOS X DP4 and Quicktime 5 beta full screen gives me faster frame rates
than Mac WMP beta at 1/4 screen.
