Not enough installed base of DTS systems. These systems are quite pricy,
and when people see that DTS selections aren't as huge as Dolby 5.1, they
are less willing to invest in the hardware.

Probably just a matter of scale of economy. Since they can't sell as many
DTS DVDs, they had to keep the price high just like how subbed anime titles
in the U.S. sell for more than dubs, even though they cost less to produce.
