I've seen it written in other places
that Char was named after the singer,
but famous people get noticed. It is
not very hard to figure out where all
the names of Char's three man squad of
Zaku pilots got the names

   "Slender"
   "Denim"
   "Jean"

I mean it was the late Seventies and
the beginning of the 80s I'm sure that
every magazine in the US, and Japan had
those three words somewhere.
