Baka - stupid, dumb, idiot
bakayarou - stupid person. Used as in "you idiot"
But let's put it this way. If your teacher or parents caught you saying
these words, they may tell you to be polite but it's not a big deal.
Friends will jokingly call each other baka (as in you dummy or you're
silly). It's even used by preschoolers.
I've noticed in seinen manga that the word "fuck" or "fuck you" (written in
katakana) seems to be a favorite curse word lately. I think it's because
this word has a badness associated with it that doesn't have an equivalent
in Japanese.
