It extends the operational range of the ZZ. It borrows the concept of the
G-armor from the RX-78 and integrates it into a transformable MS.

Remember, although the Z/ZZ era MS can fly/hover in atmospheric conditions,
they are not meant to do so for any amount of distance. Hence you still need
the base jumper type of minosky particle crafts for the MS. Being able to
transform into a MA gives a MS the best of both worlds.
