The OVA started almost 3 years ago, remember there was almost a year's
worth of gap between the death of the original series director and their
resuming production with a new director. It'd be interesting if the
original director lived to wrap up the series, because all the Gouf Custom
butt-kicking seems to be the new director's contribution and took the
series in a new direction. The series pretty much remained on the course
of a kinder and gentler Gundam until it was reborn with the new director,
who took of a more 0083 approach, with sleek MS appearances and energized
action scenes.
