Oops, thanks for pointing that out, was too late at night.
The MS-06R-1 and MS-06R-2 kits were basically the same, except the R-2
came with extra leg armor and possible not enough parts to build the leg
verniers should you decide to go leg armor-less. IIRC the backpack was
different too, not to mention minor details like the sharper spikes on the
R-2's left shoulder, the vents on the right shoulder of the R-1, and
different front skirt armor for the R-1.
The R-1A is basically the same as the R-1 except it doesn't has the R-1's
special right shoulder vent, different front skirt armor, and they might
have tweaked the leg verniers and backpack a little too. The R-1A kit
also comes with more weapons - you've got the Dom-styled Bazooka and its
prototype, not to mention a pilot figure of "Mush" from the Black Tri-Stars.
Today's MG trivia question: which part(s) on the R-variant of MG Zaku II
kits is different from the S/F/J variants although they should have been
part of the recycled mold?
