Bandai was a major shareholder of GS, by now I think they completely own
it. IIRC, there was a time when kit manuals used the paint #s that refer
to GS stock #s.

My friend and me prefer using Tamiya paint for Gundam kits too, but mixing
can be a PIA when you're building s/t like, say, the Dom. GS has dedicated
colors for almost all the Gundam suits, and you won't have to mix colors if
you are building it stock.
