It's a combo fighter capable of transporting the Gundam into combat
and since the Gundam itself is made up of 3 modules (upper torso,
Core Fighter/Block, and legs/lower torso) it can make a lot of cool
combinations with the 2-part fighter G-Armor piloted by Sayla Mass.
The most common configuration is:
G-Armor Front Module - Gundam - G-Armor Back Module
The Gundam looks like it's sandwiched in between and only the arms
stick out, but it's got a shield on each arm to protect it during flight.
The G-Armor would carry the Gundam to the battlefield, seperate to drop
it off, and recombine as just G-Armor and support the Gundam from the air.
A real cool combo is:
Core Fighter - Gundam Lower Torso - G-Armor Back Module
This would eventually become the Core Booster seen in the movie trilogy
(the G-Armor only existed in the TV series).
Another combo that served as the inspiration of the Dendrobium:
Gundam upper torso - Core Module - (Gundam lower torso?) - G-Armor Back Module
This is basically a space-use configuration that gives the Gundam better
manueverability.
