I don't think so, his name does not appear in the credits in the book
(pg 98), and it's not his style of art. Kondou however do the ZG
illustration for B-Club No.40, very nice indeed.
The front cover, is very impressive. I have not been able to romainise
the artists name but in JIS, it is $B:the artists name but in JIS, it is $B:4Ln9@IR(B, $B:4LnIR9@(B...the Mechanical
Edition has it one way, the Gundam Illustration world has it the other
way...a miz up somewhere. If I recall (it has been a L O N G time).
There was a similiar ZG illustration on the cover on an early Animag. I
don't have a copy of it...but perhaps that may have the artists name.
This guy also made some illustrations for 0083, the classic ones with
the GP02 pointing the bazooka down on GP01, and the two in a duel.
The back over of the brown 'The O' is by Kobayshi Makoto, who is into a
lot of the 'alternative/obscure' style of art much like Nagano Mamoru
(the styles are not the same, but the concept of being 'different to
mainstream' is the same). His rendition of S Gundam is very menacing,
more so than the original by Kondou.
