The new Palm-Top Series of mini-models (non-scaled) that come packaged
with candy are excellent, they twist off the parts tree without even the
need of a clipper or hobby knife, and snaps together. They are cheap too
- retails for 200 yen. Series 1 has RX-78-2, GP-01Fb, RX-78 NT1, MS-06S
Char's Zaku II, MS-06F Zaku II. I think series 2 has the Mk II, among
others.
You might want to check out the SD Gundams too... they are hard to screw
up (relatively low number of articulated limbs/points) and are more
colorful than, say, the similarly priced 1/144 scale Turn A kit, and they
even transform too!
