While cels from the original TV series might have show Char's Gelgoog
using his beam weapon in a lance-like fashion, I do not recall exactly
if the beam blade was rendered as a "saber" or a bolo-like blade. It was
rather ambiguous from what I remember, but all the Gelgoog kits released
until the MG kit have only given the bolo-like blades. In other words, the
lance-like beam saber parts is a first for Gelgoog kits with the MG release.
Probably another recent creation like the changes they made to the R-type
