Hmm, I placed a pre-order with HLJ, and they shipped me 3 upon release. So
this 3-6 kits initially per store probably has more to do with the store
manger's decision not to stock too many of these high-cost kits in fear of
not able to sell them quickly.

It doesn't has to make any sense - the PG Eva-01 has a fixed SRP but supply
is limited nevertheless -- Bandai never reprinted those.

Too bad, "limited edition" kits seems to be all the rage these days, and
it's not just Bandai that's doing this, too.

What about the Regult kits from Macross? They didn't get reissued despite
a reissue blitz for the 15th Anniversary. They are fetching ridiculous
prices on eBay even as we speak.
