Well, there was another interview with Tomino, which was on Kansai edition
of Asahi Shinbun. One of the Japanese fans "excerpted" it into his
homepage. If you can read Japanese, check it out at

Here's list of interesting things he said, who those of you who can't read
Japanese...

* He considers all of the sequels he did as the failure, due to lack of
his talent.

* He wanted to do different projects, such as WW2-themed one or one that
takes in medieval Japan, but sponsers didn't let him. So he ended up
making Gundam, thinking "do I have to do this again?"

* He finally decided to accept the stereotype "Tomino=Gundam"

* New series will focus on emotion, and idea that will destroy the
industrial society today (or something like that...)
