That's a needlessly enormous complication... it would be way more
efficient to simply 'reel in' one corner of each mirror mechanically (with
a simple winch) until the sunlight is reflected away from the colony
windows. When you wish to create a day-cycle, merely reel out some slack
in the mirror-cables and let the centripetal accelleration pull it out!
Easy, and way way way less mechanical work for your engineers to do!
