Same reason a jet needs a HUD - to keep your eyes on what's in front of
you instead of down on your instruments, although I'll agree that driving
a car isn't quite the same thing. You can afford to look down at your
gauges once in a while there. Maybe if you're banzai racing a Diablo or
something a HUD would be necessary. I wonder if you could get them to
display cop radar warnings?
