Inquiring after the now-disowned acronym, Mark Nguyen asks,

  It was suggested - I don't recall where - that it's "United Nation(s)
Troops", but this seems odd, since "United Nation(s) Troops Spacy" would be
akin to "United States Army Navy." I'd guess that the "T" is for "Terra,"
making a token acknowledgement of the actual name "Earth Federation" and
differentiating it from the "UN Spacy" markings seen in Macross.

  Of course, it's now a moot point since Sunrise has deprecated the term...
